The National Trust has an ambition to plant and establish 20 million trees by 2030. Our Passive Fire division has committed to donate £5 for every timber door set installed. In recognition of 125 fire doors fitted in October, we have donated £625.

Together we can tackle climate change, make homes for wildlife and ensure future generations enjoy more green spaces.

At Marlowe Fire & Security, we are proud to support Cancer Research UK in the amazing work they do.

This month is Ovarian & Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer for men in the UK, and ovarian cancer is the 6th most common cancer for women in the UK.

These cancers can be difficult to detect in the early stages, so it’s important to be aware of the symptoms, signs and changes you should get checked

CRUK have a wealth of information. Click the links below to find out what they are, how you’re diagnosed, about treatment and side effects, and where to get practical and emotional support.

We would like to wish all our walkers good luck. In addition to raising valuable funds for cancer research, the top walkers will get a prize, with the person with the most steps receiving a goodie bag from Cancer Research UK.

Tuesday 4th February is World Cancer Day, an international day to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.

This year, it’s World Cancer Day’s 20th anniversary – the theme is I Am and I Will and in the spirit of this year’s theme, we arranged for Cancer Research UK to visit us.

Representatives from CRUK invited our Team Members to attend presentations on a range of topics, including what affects the risk of developing cancer, the importance of visiting the doctor early with any concerns, and cancer screening programmes.

There were also Unity Bands on sale and some activities to show what research is being done with the funds raised.

On Sunday 13th October, Team Members from across Marlowe Fire & Security took part in the Manchester Half Marathon and raised over £4,000 + £780 in Gift Aid in support of our chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.

Marlowe Fire & Security has always supported charities that are close to the hearts of its Team Members.

Unfortunately, at this moment in time, cancer affects us all. Thankfully with everyone’s support, Cancer Research UK (CRUK) is pioneering research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Team Members from across Marlowe Connect, Matthew Elliot House and remote Team Members (from both Engineering and Sales) all came together last Sunday to take part in this epic challenge!

Training diligently for months prior to the event, the Team did us proud; dealing with injuries, achieving personal bests and for many runners it was the first time they had ever ran the 21K distance!

Congratulations to Craig Horrell, Barry Cattrall, Matt Anderson, Jemma Bradbury, Daniel Marshall, Laura Trench, Bethany Jones, Robbie Birchall, Devon Williams, Jack Bostock and Dom Wharton for successfully completing this challenge.

Accordingly, the event – which took place at the Bet 365 Stadium, home of Stoke City Football Club – has been renamed ‘The Chris Arnold Cup’ and all money raised will go to the Stoke Association.

Representing Marlowe Fire & Security were Jack Bostock, Darron Gee and Mark Palethorpe, and apart from the silky skills on display, the match was a great success with over £2500 being raised for this great cause.

It’s not too late to donate and you can contribute by heading to: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Jason-Bennett12

Marlowe Fire & Security has always supported charities that are close to the hearts of our Team Members. Unfortunately, at this moment in time, cancer affects us all. Thankfully with everyone’s support, Cancer Research UK (CRUK) is pioneering research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured!

Last week, our CEO Rob Flinn presented a cheque to Natasha Foxford of Cancer Research UK for over £9,000 to support them in their important work.

Over the past 12 months our Team Members have organised numerous fundraising activities, giving their time to support our chosen charity. Our initiatives have included our Charity Climb of Mount Snowdon where 25 of our daring, and slightly mad Team Members, braved treacherous conditions to reach the summit.

We would like to thank our Customers, Suppliers and most importantly all our Team Members, Family and Friends for their generous donations and support over the past year.

If you would like to find our more about Cancer Research UK and the important work they are doing on behalf of all of us, please visit www.cancerresearchuk.org

Yesterday our Fire Sprinkler Installation team temporarily downed tools to respond to an urgent help request from Hope Nottingham, a local charity that provides much needed support to neighbourhood foodbanks across the city.

Foodbanks see a spike in demand over the summer break because school meals are unavailable, putting this fantastic resource under pressure.

Swapping their tools for shopping trolleys our team headed to a local supermarket to stock up on essentials to help refill the Foodbanks shelves. The team spent time at the Foodbank and also collected and delivered donations from NHS staff.
