The 2016 Chester Half Marathon

Since 1982, Swift Fire & Security has always supported charities that function to care for the most vulnerable in our society and this year we are proud to be supporting Cancer Research UK.

Every day in the UK there are more than 400 people diagnosed with cancer. Swift have been working tirelessly to raise money to support Cancer Research UK’s mission to ensure that 3 in 4 people survive cancer by 2034.

Over the past 4 months, 10 dedicated Swift team members from across our national team have put on their running shoes, strapped up their knees and trained diligently to prepare for the 2016 Chester Half Marathon.

On Sunday 15th April the Swift runners were true examples of the company’s determination, effort and teamwork. Everyone completed the challenge, personal bests were smashed and the atmosphere on the day was amazing. Well done to everyone who took part and to all those who donated so generously.

Throughout the day, our team were approached by members of the public who shared their own personal stories of battles with Cancer and to know the team is helping others in similar situations is the reason why we keep on going despite the sweat, sprains and tiredness.

In total the Swift runners managed to raise an amazing £1167.00 for Cancer Research UK. Thank you to all who helped in the event in our fight to beat cancer sooner.
